No two days are the same in my Outreach work and that is exactly why I love it! The service-users have become friends who I care about. Being able to make a difference to their everyday life, no matter how big or small, is a priceless opportunity.

Michelle, Magpies Outreach Enabler

One of the things I enjoy most about working in care is how no day is the same. One day you can be doing arts and crafts with four of five people, the next day you could be running a sports group with fourteen people. It’s a very rewarding job as sometimes you can generally make a difference to someone’s life, especially if they are lonely at home. They can come into Magpies to socialise and gain new skills.

Jorden, Magpies Enabler

I love working with Magpies members. I consider myself a very lucky person to be able to work with the people that I do. I love being able to make a difference to people’s lives. One of the members was unable to socialise with her friends, so I volunteered to go to the ‘Beat It’ night at the Salvation so this member could spend an evening with her friends.

Kay, Magpies Enabler

I love being a Receptionist at Magpies. I used to be a service-user myself, I learnt so many new skills for me to then start this paid position. I like helping people make drinks for visitors and I like working with the staff and members. I really enjoy meeting new people that come and visit Magpies. I love being able to make a difference to members lives, making them smile and be happy.

Rebecca, Magpies Receptionist
