Magpies was recently transformed into a magical world of pure imagination as they put on a spectacular production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The performance took place on Wednesday, 3rd May and parents, carers and anyone from the community who wanted to purchase a ticket were invited.
The performance was put on by Magpies’ drama group ‘The Drama-pies’ and featured dances by Magpies’ mixed ability dance group ‘Magpie Movers’. The whole show was cleverly created, choreographed and directed by dance and performing arts enabler, Lucas.
The show was split in to two parts, separated by an interval, where members helped to serve tea and Wonka themed treats, made in baking sessions.
Lucas said “The Magpie Movers and Drama-pies have been working on this production for the last four months. They have all worked incredibly hard. I have really enjoyed working on this show and I am so proud of their dedication and what they have all achieved. Lots of other members have also helped on this production from costume to props to baking and to lending a helping hand. I just want to say a huge thank you to all the staff who has supported with this staff who has supported with this show, I couldn’t have done it without you.”
The Drama-pies are already starting to plan their next production…so watch this space!
