Magpies Members qualify as Engagement Champions

Last week, three of our members, Rochelle, Terry and Yvonne were presented with their Engagement Champion certificates from Voluntary and Community (VAC), which means that they are qualified to deliver engagement and consultation activities safely and competently.

Engagement Champions are individuals who are trained to engage with the local population to communicate changes and developments in health services in the area.

To receive this qualification, individuals have to undertake mandatory training over four, 2-hour sessions on a range of elements, including understanding how the NHS works, and methods and approaches to engagement and consultation.

The training was provided by VAC, in partnership with NHS Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group, and our members were fully supported by a Magpies Enabler.

Another member, Jean, has also qualified but is yet to receive her certificate.

Well done Terry, Yvonne, Rochelle and Jean!
